JOKES YOU
CAN TELL ANYWHERE
The author of the
book Jokes you can tell anywhere, Norman Nel, has very
kindly donated the royalties due to him from the sales
of the book to the Association for the Physically Disabled
(APD) – Greater Johannesburg.
To give effect
to this, publishers Executive Living (Pty) Ltd has given
the APD 1 000 free copies from the initial print order
which the APD is keen to sell so that the income (R100
000) can be utilised in the rendering of our services.
Any future reprint of the book will be dealt with in the
same way.
Says the author:
“I hope you will enjoy reading these jokes as much
as I have enjoyed sharing them with you. Most of all,
I am looking forward to hearing that the sales of this
book have broken all records and, as a result, many more
physically disabled children will be given the chance
to grow up in a positive, determined way so that they,
too, can take their places as confident, useful citizens
in this wonderful country.
“If you want
to brighten someone’s day, give a copy of this book
to that person, particularly if you believe he or she
deserves to be treated to a good laugh. This book will
not only spread a lot of happiness, but will also provide
some much-needed funding to help physically disabled children
as all the author’s royalties are going to the APD.”
During the last
seven decades the APD has helped thousands of people,
originally as the Cripples’ Care Association (1934
– 1986), and since 1987 as the Association for the
Physically Disabled – Greater Johannesburg. Details
of all our activities as well as a copy of our latest
Annual Report can be obtained by visiting our web site
(www.apdjhb.co.za).
As the income from
this project is very important to the APD, we would greatly
appreciate your support.

NEL ON NORMAN NEL
I am the product
of the Hope Home in Johannesburg. It was at the Hope Home
more than anywhere else that I learned to cope with having
one short leg. I soon realised that there are many people
who are much worse off than me, because they have to go
through life with two short legs. After school I embarked
on a career in business. At age 65 I retired after a distinguished
career. I now write books and have a few best sellers
to my credit.
